I am assuming my cat will be smart enough to move as the temperature in my kiln rises. At 324 degrees F he seems quite content to be there.

i used to have a cat that would walk over and sleep on a pile of stained glass scraps left over from making panels. he never got cut oddly enough, and since his box was in the same place (garage) as my glass work, he couldn’t be trained to not do so.
Go figure! I’m sure there were a lot softer places to sleep than on your scrap pile. I found mine drinking the water in my tile saw tray despite the fresh bowl of water that was right there in the same room. No wonder they say cats have nine lives.
