Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, I saved my fused glass Firelite nine heart casting mold! ❤️🔥
I decided my nine heart mold was beyond saving and threw it in the trash. But then I thought, “What do I have to lose?” So I rescued it, grabbed a dental pick, my Dremel tool, and carefully removed the bits of glass that had fused to the mold.
I channeled my inner Bernini. Gently, with a sanding disk and water I carefully reshaped the most egregious areas. I focused on the areas where the stuck glass had chipped away the mold. After giving it a thorough cleaning and letting it dry, I applied two coats of ZYP and hoped for the best.
Lo and behold—it worked! I turned the mold over, and the hearts fell right out.
I’m so glad I didn’t give up. Sometimes a little patience, persistence, and creativity can bring something you thought was ruined back to life.
