As you may have noticed in my last post, the kiln arrived safe and sound. It’s a Paragon Pearl 22 clam shell style. It can sit on a table. So my wonderful husband built a table on wheels for me to put it on. The difficult part was lifting the over 300 pound kiln to get it on the table. We had to call in reinforcements. (Thanks dad & mom!) First everyone spent a bit of time evaluating the situation.
Then my husband and dad lifted, and mom helped position. I photographed and directed by saying, “Be careful! Be careful!” Followed by, “Don’t hurt your back!
Once in place, we all celebrated the new arrival. Those wine bottles will come in handy to do some test slumpings!
