Yes, I know it’s still too early to think about the holidays. But no matter how hard I try to keep ahead of the things, Christmas always gets here before I’ve done everything I want to and I definitely wanted to make a holiday serving plate this year.
I made this channel plate a few weeks ago. It is 17.5 inches long by 4.5 inches wide. It is a creamy white with transparent red and green stripes. The mold I used to shape this piece is a channel mold that I bought from Bullseye Glass earlier this year. Bullseye molds are more expensive than other molds on the market. But after trying molds from several different manufacturers I prefer the Bullseye molds. Their molds always produce great finished pieces with flat bottoms. Some of the others don’t.
I love the shape of this plate. It is great for serving appetizers, bread, cookies or the Bûche de Noël I bake every Christmas. It would also look great with a row of tea lights on it. Check it out in my shop.
