This fused glass art tray features a unique hand crafted piece of glass. To create this one of a kind piece of glass I stack strips of glass in the kiln heating them up until they flow together and create a slab. I cut the slab open with a tile saw to reveal the stunning pattern created. In this piece I combined a terra cotta and blue glass reminicent of the earth and sky. I added 6 mm hand cut strips of glass around the bar to set it off. I used a transparent wispy blue glass which represents the wind. Small champagne bubbles are a distinguishing characteristic of a hand made fused glass piece. The complete process for this one of a kind piece takes four firings. Not only beautiful, but also functional as a serving piece.
