A contemporary black and white fused glass plate that is not only beautiful to display on its own, but also functional. Use it to serve appetizers, desserts and more. In addition to the hand cut 3 mm strips of glass in this tray, I created two patterned accent pieces of glass. These were made by stacking layers of glass in the kiln and allowing them to flow into a block. The block is then cut to reveal the pattern. Adding interest and detail to the piece, I made the white and black glass borders in a matte finish while leaving the center glossy. This piece has a subtle graceful curve to it. Four small glass “feet” elevates the piece and adds stability.
