I had the great fortune of visiting the Balule Nature Reserve section of Kruger National Park in South Africa. This one of a kind 10″ square plate was inspired by the beautiful animals I saw on that trip. It features a strip of glass that I made by heating stacks of glass in the kiln allowing them to flow into a brick shape. I cut the brick with my tile saw to reveal the unique pattern. I combined it with complimentary colors and gave it a matte finish to create this unique safari piece. A beautiful display piece, but also functional. Use this as a serving piece for your favorite appetizers.
