This mostly white fused glass art tray features a unique hand crafted piece of glass. To create this one of a kind piece of glass I stack strips of glass in the kiln heating them up until they flow together and create a slab. I cut the slab open with a tile saw to reveal the stunning pattern created. Each flow slab pattern bar is unique. In this piece I combined white, black, and a hint of gray to create the pattern bar. I added 6mm hand cut strips of glass in clear, black and a lime yellow around the bar to set it off and add a pop of color. I also added a thin clear border around the piece for interest. I completed the piece by giving the white glass and clear edge a matte finish which make the pattern bar stand out as the focal point. The complete process takes four firings. Not only beautiful, but also functional as a serving piece.
