Both functional and beautiful this is truly a one of a kind fused glass plate. I created the focal point of this tray by melting different colors of glass in a pot allowing them to flow together and create an abstract free form piece of glass. Using a tile saw, I cut out a section that is interesting and combined it with complementary glass colors. The black glass has a modern matte finish that contrasts with the glossy glass in the center. I hand cut more than 100 tiny 6 mm pieces of glass to create the stripes that appear to be floating. Viewed from any angle this is an interesting piece. This one of a kind piece required 4 firings in the kiln.
