In this unique fused glass art tray I used a technique that stacks strips of red and and white glass in the kiln heating them up until they flow together and create a slab. The slab is cut open with a tile saw to reveal the pattern created by the flowing molten glass. Each flow slab pattern bar is unique. I then combined the pattern bar with black and transparent red glass stripes which are hand-cut 3mm strips of glass. A clear strip of glass on either side of the focal point really makes it stand our. From start to the finished piece, the process to make this rectangular sushi style tray takes four separate firings. Red and black is such a classic color combination and will be a stand-out accent piece in any home and would make an exceptionally elegant Christmas gift.

Please note! I do my best to ensure that photos are as true to color as possible. However, due to the many variations in monitors and browsers, the color may appear different on different monitors. In addition, lighting conditions at the time the photo was taken can also affect an image’s color particularly with transparent glass. Please check with me if the color of a piece is critical.
