New Kiln Stand

Isn’t it lovely?

No. Not the kiln, but the stand it’s on.

I am so fortunate to have a wonderful husband who built this kiln stand for me. It’s on wheels so that I can move it away from the walls when I’m ready to fire it. I love that it is has extra shelves below for my spare kiln shelf and molds. And no more bending over to program the controller.

Thanks dear! Your the best!

That is a very nice kiln stand. What material did your husband use as the floor for the kiln? Cement? Thin set? I’m sure that even ceramic floor tiles from home depot could have been used as a heat resistant surface, but sometimes simplest is best.

I will definitely “borrow” this idea.

Thanks. I love it. It is just the right height for me and I love the extra storage for molds underneath. The floor that the kiln stands on is a cement backer board that my husband got at a local home store.
